Two ways to work with us
Labels choose between a yearly plan and a revenue share. The question is mostly size: how many artists you release, and whether you would rather pay a fee and keep everything, or pay nothing up front and share.
| Label | Label Partner | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $149 a year, paid in advance | No fee |
| Your share of store royalties | 100% | 85% |
| Artists | Up to 10 | Unlimited |
| Releases | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| YouTube Content ID | Included — you keep 80% | Included |
| Support | Priority support | Dedicated account manager and marketing support |
| How you join | Apply, then subscribe | Agreed with us, not bought online |
The Label plan renews automatically each year unless you cancel before renewal, and you can cancel any time from your account. Label Partner is for catalogues bigger than a ten-artist plan; talk to us and we will work out the terms with you.
How the ten artist slots work
The Label plan covers up to ten artists. An artist uses a slot only when they are the main artist on a release that has been delivered. That rule is deliberately generous:
- Guests and features are free. A featured vocalist or a guest verse on someone else's release does not use a slot.
- Drafts are free. An artist whose first release is still being prepared uses no slot until it is delivered.
- Ten main artists is the line. Past ten, Label Partner has no limit.
A label needs its own paid plan to invite artists into its account.
Your artists, with their own logins
Each artist on your roster can have their own login. They see their own releases and their own money — not the rest of the label. You keep control of the catalogue; they get a straight answer to "how is my record doing?" without waiting for you to send a spreadsheet.
You see everything: analytics across the whole roster on the Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music dashboards, with CSV export for your own reports. Every release also gets its own landing page listing every store it is live on, with click tracking — one link for the press release, the artist's bio and the label's socials.
Releasing under your label name
The label name is free text on every release, so each record goes out under your own imprint at no extra cost. Every release gets free ISRC and UPC codes — as many as you need — or you can keep the codes you already have.
Before a release goes, the editor checks it against store requirements: a specific performer credit for every track on Apple Music, featured artists credited as artists rather than in titles, no titles in capitals, "Various Artists" only for compilations, and electronic music only on Beatport. You can schedule the release date and choose territories for each release. We deliver approved releases within 24 hours, and a new account's first release is reviewed by our team before it goes.
A release can be sent to more stores later, or taken down from one store while staying live everywhere else. See every store we deliver to.
Splits, statements and payouts
Set royalty splits on a release and each collaborator is paid their share directly — the producer, the featured artist, a co-owner of the master. Nobody waits for the label to work out by hand who is owed what.
- All earnings — stores, YouTube and publishing — go into one wallet in US dollars
- Stores report in arrears, most about two months after the month of the streams
- Monthly statements close on the 15th of the following month
- Withdraw above $70 by Payoneer, PayPal, Wise or bank transfer; below $70 the balance carries over
If a plan lapses, releases already in stores stay there — nothing is taken down for non-payment. New deliveries wait until the plan is renewed.
Content ID, YouTube networks and publishing
Labels earn from more than streams. YouTube Content ID is included on every plan: it finds your recordings in anyone's YouTube upload, so you can earn from the ads, track the use or block it. On the Label plan you keep 80%. We run three Content ID networks — Music, Entertainment and a Publishing CMS — and more than a billion YouTube views are monetised across them every month. If your label also runs YouTube channels, read about our YouTube networks.
Content ID and the social rights tools — Facebook and Instagram, TikTok — claim every use of the audio, so they are only for recordings the label controls exclusively. Leave them off for covers of other people's recordings, uncleared samples, non-exclusive beats and public-domain recordings.
If your label owns or administers songs as well as recordings, publishing administration collects the songwriting side through more than 50 collection societies across 215 territories. A stream pays the recording and the composition separately, and a label that collects only the first may be missing the second.
Moving your catalogue from another distributor
Moving a label is mostly bookkeeping, and the codes do the work.
- List the catalogueEvery release with its UPC, every track with its ISRC, and the original release dates.
- Re-deliver with the same codesDeliver each release again through TempoDigital with its original ISRCs and UPC.
- Wait until it is liveCheck that each store shows the new delivery before you touch the old one.
- Take it down at the old distributorOnly then remove it there. Stores link the new delivery to the old one by its codes, so play counts and playlist placements normally carry over.
We help plan migrations with you. The full walk-through is in our guide on how to switch music distributor.
Getting started
Accounts are opened by application. Tell us about your label — the roster, the catalogue, where it is now — and we usually have you set up within one working day. Label plans come with priority support from then on.
