Who listens on JioSaavn

JioSaavn belongs to Reliance Jio, the Indian mobile network, and is widely bundled with Jio mobile plans. It has a free tier and a paid Pro tier, and a large catalogue of Bollywood and regional Indian music. Its listeners are in India and in South Asian communities abroad.

For artists who make Indian music, in any of its languages, it is one of the services that matter most. For any artist with listeners in India or the diaspora, it belongs on the release alongside Spotify and YouTube Music.

JioSaavn is also where Jio users pick their JioTune, the song a caller hears while the phone rings. They find a song in the app, preview it and choose Set JioTune — since August 2026 a single tap. Whether a particular song offers the option is up to JioSaavn.

How music gets onto JioSaavn

JioSaavn says it simply: at the moment it does not let artists upload their own content. Music arrives through labels and content aggregators, which handle the licensing and delivery and pay the royalties. A distributor like us is one of those routes.

ArtistOne: JioSaavn for artists

JioSaavn's tool for artists is ArtistOne, at artists.jiosaavn.com. Only artists and their teams get access. To claim your profile:

1. Register on ArtistOne and verify your email address. Managers choose the Manager option.
2. Search for the artist. If the name does not come up, paste the link to your JioSaavn artist page or one of your songs into the search bar.
3. Submit the artist's social media pages so the ArtistOne team can confirm the connection.

Once verified, you can:

• Edit your page — image and bio, and "Made By" playlists for your fans
• See your audience — streaming milestones, how your tracks rank against each other, fan and superfan growth, and listeners by age, gender, city and country
• Pitch to editors — submit songs to JioSaavn's editorial team for playlist consideration
• Post Shorties — short looping videos on your songs
• Bring in your team — invite people from Manage Team on the Profile tab

Keeping your music on the right profile

If your JioSaavn profile mixes your songs with another artist's, JioSaavn says that is most likely a problem with the artist metadata it received from the distributor, and the fix is for the distributor to send it again correctly. Two habits avoid it:

• Spell your artist name the same way on every release.
• Credit featured artists as separate artists, not inside the title or the main artist field.

If it happens anyway, tell us: we help you correct the metadata and send the release again.

Releasing on JioSaavn, step by step

1. Apply and set up your artistAccounts are opened by application — tell us about your music and we usually have you ready within one working day.
2. Add the release detailsTitle, artists, genre, release date and territories. Keep India in the territories if you want JioSaavn's main audience.
3. Upload artwork and audioSquare artwork of at least 2400 × 2400 px (3000 × 3000 is ideal) and lossless WAV, FLAC or AIFF. Both are checked on upload.
4. Pick JioSaavn and the other storesEvery plan includes every store at no extra charge. We deliver approved releases within 24 hours; how fast JioSaavn publishes is up to JioSaavn.
5. Claim ArtistOne and pitchOnce your music is on JioSaavn, claim your profile and send your best song to the editors.

Set your release date two to three weeks ahead so JioSaavn goes live on the same day as every other store.

How JioSaavn pays you

JioSaavn pays royalties whenever your music is played, with reporting that comes back to us. There is no fixed amount per stream, and we do not quote one.

Stores report in arrears — most about two months after the month the streams happened. JioSaavn's earnings land in your TempoDigital wallet in US dollars, and above $70 you can withdraw by Payoneer, PayPal, Wise or bank transfer.

Mistakes to avoid on JioSaavn

• Spelling your name differently. Mixed-up profiles on JioSaavn usually start with inconsistent metadata.
• Leaving India out of the territories. Most of JioSaavn's listeners are there.
• Not claiming ArtistOne. Without it you cannot pitch to the editors or see who listens.
• Looking for an upload button. There is none; releases come through a distributor or label.
